[Swatch] essence nail art twins reloaded - bella and essence nail art special effect! topper - only purple matters (over essie - blanc and essie - licorice)

Hey guys!

I'm back home! We have a guest with us, but I didn't want to go another few days without posting, so I bring you these later-than-usual swatches I did a while back, I hope you enjoy!

First and second picture: bella (pointer and ring fingers) and only purple matters (middle and pinky fingers) both over white; third picture: only purple matters over black on pointer and ring fingers and again over white on middle and pinky fingers. I really liked the look of all these combinations! bella was a surprising mix of black glitter in various sizes and small holographic glitter. All photos with top coat, as usual the glitter just needs it.

PSA

Hey guys!

I'm currently on holiday and haven't scheduled more posts. Sorry about that! Things will go back to normal in a few days. Have a great rest of the week!

[Swatch] misslyn Limited Edition Sugar Baby - sunshine reggae

Hey guys!

This is it, the last one of the Sugar Baby polishes! We're DONE! Cue the applause...

Two coats, no top coat - duh. Just like honey-sweet and bubble bath, this has bigger glitter pieces. I'm a bit on the fence about the color, I'm not really too much into it. Thoughts?

piCture pOlish - ruby blou (over Sally Hansen - Sugar Fix)

Hey guys!

In the order from way back that brought me the wonderful piCture pOlish - attitude I had also included this gem, a glitter topper that really makes me think of Independence Day (the holiday, not the movie). So let's check it out!

One coat, a little pushing and dabbing here and there over two coats of Sugar Fix, with top coat. Blue, red and silver glitter, big and small, in a clear base. I loved this look a lot! If you're less inept than me, you could maybe make this look like fireworks, you know, for July 4th. Can somebody please explain the name to me, though?

[Swatch] essence - sweet or nude?

Hey guys!

Not too long ago, essence transitioned their product range from spring/summer to fall/winter, so of course I had to pick up a few new polishes - no surprise to anyone here, amirite? So here we go with the first of the (surprisingly) small bunch.

Two coats with top coat. As you can see this has considerable amounts of shimmer to it. Would you call this a frost? It's not glaringly frosty at all, though, in my opinion it retains the subtlety of a nude polish. I really don't know if this would be considered frost, but I don't think so. Sometimes I get confused, guys...

[Swatch] misslyn - copper diamond (over OPI - Don't Burst My Bubble; Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

Y'all know what this post is gonna be about! I have to say that I hope this counts. I wanted to do something a little out of the ordinary today, so let's see...

As usual with glitter toppers I gotta say this requires a bit of dabbing and pushing around. The base is OPI "Don't Burst My Bubble", a sheer nude kind of polish, which I really like the look of. This combination surprised me with how lovely it looked in the end, I think I'm gonna wear this some time soon. Photo is with top coat, as usual.

[Swatch] Sally Hansen Limited Edition Sugar Coat - Sugar Fix

Hey guys!

Again, just as Cherry Drop, this is Lena's fault. She made it look so nice, I needed it, okay? Okay. Let's chance a look.

Two coats, no top coat. Again, this has a slightly shiny finish. For some reason, I feel like this is more wearable than a regular white creme polish. Maybe because the textured surface breaks up the stiffness of the white color a little, I don't know. In any case, I kinda like it.

[Swatch] misslyn - it-girl (over sugary)

Hey guys!

Today we're looking at a polish that will amaze you in the bottle and... well, it still looks nice applied. Let's get right into it...

One coat and a little bit of pushing and dabbing over two coats of sugary, with top coat. The holographic effect is still there, but it's not as crazy and amazing as in the bottle - of course. I still really like this, though, it's cute and pretty.

[Swatch] Sally Hansen Limited Edition Sugar Coat - Cherry Drop

Hey guys!

First off, I would like to say that this is Lena's fault. She made me buy this. Mhm. What do you mean you don't think so? Let's just... let's just see it, okay?

Two coats, no top coat. Unlike some other sand polishes, this dries shiny. I have to say it's not my favorite finish, but it's not so bad. The color is really vibrant - not much like cherries in my opinion, more of an orange-toned red. Wow.

[Swatch] OPI - Eiffel For This Color (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

I'm late for today's post, don't worry, I know. I wanted to prepare this post yesterday, but quite simply forgot. So without further ado let's check this week's color for Cyw's and Lena's series.

Two coats with top coat. When I applied the second coat, I had to be careful not to take polish off the nail with the brushstrokes, which is a problem I really hate. Patchy application, ugh! I would attribute that to my lacking technique rather than the polish, though. Anyway, this is not very accurately depicted above. In reality, it's darker and has much more of a purple/plum tone to it, just really a color that I would associate with the deep, luscious look of an aubergine. Then again, no two aubergines (or eggplants) look the same, so I guess the term does give you a bit of room for interpretation. As opposed to the vegetable, this has some beautiful shimmer in it, which sadly isn't so much visible since the sky is completely overcast today.

Story time! I first selected OPI "Honk If You Love OPI" for today, then changed my mind like two days ago and photographed Orly's "Velvet Rope", then today I looked at "Eiffel For This Color" (which I just received in the mail last Saturday) and thought to myself "Man, this would work really well, too!", so I applied and photographed it. Also, when we were out grocery shopping on Saturday, I had a good look at the aubergines to make sure I knew what color to look for in my collection... I guess I looked a little weird staring at a few aubergines all intensely, but I don't think anyone really cared. Lol.

[Swatch] misslyn Limited Edition Sugar Baby - spring break

Hey guys!

This is the second to last polish from the LE I have to show you, so let's see it, shall we?

Three coats, no top coat. A light green. I wanted to build the color more than I did with rock candy or bubble bath, just to see what it could achieve in terms of color payoff. I'm quite satisfied with the result!

[Swatch] alessandro - Precious Treasure

Hey guys!

I got this a while back and thought I'd share the beauty with you, so here we go!

Two coats with top coat. Sorry about the skin problems. In any case, I really like this. As per usual, the shimmer is more visible in the bottle than on the nails, but it is still visible, so I'm not complaining too much. It was my first experience with alessandro (which I keep wanting to spell allessandro) and I'm pretty happy with my purchase. One thing I don't like though is the smell. This smells different than other polishes I have, and definitely not better. I can't really pinpoint it, but I don't like the way this smells. Thankfully still not as bad as Kleancolor, though.

[Swatch] misslyn Limited Edition Sugar Baby - sugary

Hey guys!

Yes, I'm still not done with this LE... There's only two more, though! I'm sorry if you're sick of all the sand polishes. I just really love them, not least because they last longer on my nails than any other type of polish I've tried. Anyway, let's see this one!

Two coats, no top coat, as usual. I like this delicate pink/rose color, it's pretty but subtle.

[Swatch] P2 Limited Edition Denim delight - grey denim (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

We're getting a little autumn-y in our series today with gray as the color of the week. Without further ado, let's get right into it!

Two coats without top coat. As you can see, this dries to what I would call a semi-matt or rubbery finish. I quite like that! The golden shimmer is very nice, and well visible too.

[Swatch] essence Limited Edition Oktoberfest - Bussal

Hey guys!

When the time of Oktoberfest in Munich rolls around, everyone and their mom suddenly likes to pretend they're Bavarian. Not that I mind terribly, but it can sprout some interesting peculiarities. Anyway, essence is having a LE dedicated to the Oktoberfest and I snagged this polish, so let's see it!

Two coats with top coat. I think this is quite a classic red shade; it's quite bright, and as such you can see it makes my skin look extremely pale - to my camera, anyway. I quite like it, but the name is just so silly to me.

[Swatch] Manhattan Limited Edition Community Colours - my picks, part III of III

Hey guys!

Here we go with the last batch of three for Manhattan's current LE. Are you sad it's over? Probably not. Anyway, here we go!

Emerald Green

Two coats with top coat. This doesn't have a lot to do with the color emerald if you ask me, but we'll ignore that for now. Here we have fine blue-greenish and gold flecks. The gold is almost invisible in the photo, but it's there in reality. Reminds me of a few Zoya polishes, e. g. Hazel.

Urban Desire

Two coats with top coat. A turquoise with shimmer. I probably have like five of these, but I fell for it again. What can I say... it's nice.

Purple Poetry

Three coats with top coat. A purple with blue and red/pink shimmer particles. This was surprisingly sheer. From the first coat on I kinda messed this up. If you apply more carefully and maybe a little more thickly than usual - I do quite thin coats - you can probably make this look good with two coats. What do I think about it? It's purple, what do you think I think? But seriously, I like it; then again I have a few others that look almost exactly the same. So yeah.

Three's a pattern.
