joyful cherry

Hey guys!

I posted Astor's "Mexican Cherry" a little while back and when I had it on, I couldn't help but experiment a little with a glitter gradient. I usually fail hard at gradients of any kind, really, but I feel like this time it worked out better than the other times I'd tried before, so I wanted to share.

This is essence - "joy to the world!" over "Mexican Cherry", with top coat. I know, I know - very christmassy! But I didn't really want to wait eight months to show you...

piCture pOlish - gravity

Hey guys!

Remember when I showed "altered state"? Yeah, that kinda seems like forever ago. But I haven't forgotten about the two other polishes from this LE (cleverly entitled "Limited Edition") and my sort-of-promise to show them as well, so here goes the second of the set of three!

Just as with "altered state", this is all one coat over black, with top coat. While the first photo shows the blue-teal color of this polish, the colors in the shifts are pretty much the same as "altered state" has. I have to admit that disappointed me a bit.

Manhattan - 10V

Hey guys!

I feel like this is throwback week or something, since I'm referring to a lot of older posts... Anyway, when I posted about "10V" (and ain't that a lovely name) for the first time, I showed it over Rival de Loop Young "shiny bronze". I wasn't sure if it would reach opacity by itself. A while later I decided to find out...

This is two coats with top coat. Aaah, my nails were so nice and long back then... Anyway, back to "10V": As you can see it's quite opaque - and very pretty, I might add! I wore this for a day only, but I'm sure I'll wear it again. Do I have to say that it was hard to get off? It was hard to get off.

essie - bouncer, it's me (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

This week's theme: middle blue! I'm actually not sure if that's even a term that exists in English; however, I'm sure you all can imagine what it means. We're looking for that blue that can neither be classified as light nor as dark, that in-between range of hues. So I picked a special one here...

Three coats, no top coat. As you can see, this dries matt; it was part of last year's neon collection and I believe it's recommended to use a white polish underneath. I didn't do that, though, because I prefer the "pure" blue. It's still not at 100% coverage after three coats, but I don't mind. My camera had a hard time picking up the real color of this, which you can best see on my pointer finger here.

The Transformation of Summer Calling

Hey guys!

I recently experimented a little and I thought the results were pretty bangin', so I wanted to share them with you!

P2 - summer calling

Two coats - with top coat, maybe? I can't remember, sorry!

P2 - so gold top coat over summer calling

Catrice - Holo Is The New Yolo over P2 so gold over summer calling

Thoughts?

P2 - city love (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

I've had a pretty terrible day, so I'm sorry, but I'm gonna keep this short. This week's theme is gray! One of my favorite colors to paint my nails.

Shown here are two coats, with top coat. Easy application, lovely color with a blue undertone - I couldn't want more!

Secret Easter Bunny

Hey guys!

Remember the Secret Santa post I did? As I'd already mentioned back then, there is now also an Easter Edition of this. Lena and Lotte initiated and organized it, so thanks to them for the hard work! So let's see what I got this time!

left to right: essence - iced strawberry cream; Maybelline - Rose Attraction; Manhattan - Sparkly Nude;
misslyn - champagne; wet n wild - Under Your Spell

Two coats of each, except for Sparkly Nude and Under Your Spell, which I applied three coats of. No top coat.

I'm happy with what I received, so thanks to Wiebke for the cool polishes! I can definitely see a theme with the colors you don't like that much, but I do like them, so it's a win-win! The essence and misslyn polishes I already owned, but no matter, I don't mind having a backup of either of them! I gotta mention that Sparkly Nude has a pretty golden shimmer that I unfortunately couldn't capture on the photo.

essie - Peach Daiquiri (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

This week's theme for my favorite series is coral. Now this is a shade I'm not too comfortable picking out - I'm never quite sure if what I have really is coral. Anyway, let's see what I have here...

Two coats with top coat pictured here. I feel like this is on the very pinky end of coral, if it even falls into that category still. The photo makes it look more orange-y than it seems to me in reality.

Astor "Neo Tribal" collection - Mexican Cherry

Hey guys!

I walked past this collection quite a few times since it came out, but then I ended up picking a color I'm usually not into too much, even though I've warmed up to it over the course of the past two plus years. Anyway, let's see it.

This is two coats, no top coat. I like the color, but I had a hard time getting rid of the patchy-ness. Top coat might've helped, but I wanted to do something else with this (soon on this blog :P) and so I left it without top coat.

P2 - start wild! (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

This week in Cyw's and Lena's series we're looking at different shades of light green! For this occasion, I picked one that I'd like to describe with "sparkling meadow"...

Three coats with top coat pictured above. This is quite an opaque glitter, and it's pretty, too. I don't have a ton of options when it comes to light green, so I hope this is okay. I know this series isn't exactly a SERIOUS BUSINESS thing, but still. I wanna get it right, I guess.
