Catrice - Vino Tinto (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

We have a blast from the past today! This picture is already pretty old, but fits the aubergine (or eggplant) category so nicely that I could finally put it to good use. Here we go!

Two coats, fully opaque, gorgeous color! This is with top coat. I was surprised at how much I loved this, it was a bit of an impulse purchase. Catrice is changing up their standard range for spring and summer right now, but this is still in there so go get you some!

Christmas 2014 nails

Hey guys!

Back to English I am, and with a bit of a throwback as well! Remember my post on Christmas Eve 2014? I say that like it was ages ago... well, it was a few weeks ago. Before this turns into any more of a disaster, let's look at the polishes, shall we?

Christmas Eve
I put down two coats of Gloriana by a-england (Elizabeth and Mary LE) as a base and then added deborah lippmann's "Boom Boom Pow" for a bit of a special touch. I proceeded to mattify the whole thing... and didn't really like it. But by that time I was beyond caring (since prior to starting that mani I had spent basically all day contemplating what I wanted to wear, unable to decide on one thing or another), so I just thought "eff it, this is what I'm wearing".

Christmas Day
So since I didn't like what I'd put on the night before, I didn't mind messing around with some new stuff. I had Anny's "look of love" sitting on my desk and just put it over what I already had on - and loved it! I wore this for about three or four days total. Of course it was a bit of a pain to take off, but well.

Rossmann Weihnachtsüberraschungsbox (German post)

Hallo zusammen!

Was? Deutsch? Hier?

Also hab ich's behalten.

essie "jiggle hi jiggle low" - back in the limo (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

I didn't plan on posting today, but when I was contemplating what to swatch for apricot I remembered that this was sitting around in my blog folder, so here we are!

You will need three or four coats of this to get it somewhat opaque. I swatched this a while ago already, so I'm not 100% sure anymore, but I think I did three coats (plus to coat!). Maybe. Anyway, this shade is on the very soft side of apricot, but that may also be one of the reasons why I like it.

misslyn "Rock The Party" - my pleasure (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

I'm really late again this week - so much, in fact, that I'm breaking my "post only on even dates"-rule. Did you even know that was my rule? Probably not, lol. Anyway, here we go with my pick for midtone blue!

Two coats and no top coat - I had hoped this would be a satin finish, but it's more of a metallic. Oh well. The color's still pretty!

Secret Santa 2014

Hey guys!

Today I have the Secret Santa package I received to share with you! Just like in 2013, I took part in this fun event and of course I wanna show you guys what I got. No swatches this time, sorry - but if you wanna see any of these applied let me know and I will show them as soon as I can!

My Secret Santa was Melanie - thank you! She sent me SEVEN polishes plus samples of two perfumes she said she really likes. Now let me tell you what the polishes are. Looking at the second photo, from left to right:
W7 without name (at least I can't find it!)
Love this color, it seems like it's right up my alley.

Sally Hansen - New Wave Blue
Melanie said this is one she really loves and has too, so she gave me this to enjoy as well - how generous! I quite like the color.

MUA Makeup Academy - Jellyfish
Again, right up my alley!

essence - crack me! white
Not loving it, but that's okay. We'll see what I'm gonna do with it, but it'll probably get given away.

Color Club - Bright Night
What a blue! Loving it. It seems to like to separate a little, though, so I hope the formula will be okay. Oh, and this is my first Color Club polish!

Beauty Women - Amethyst
Pretty color, but I'm not too wild about it. We'll see how it looks applied!

teeez - Free Spirit
Again, I'm gonna have to see what this looks like on the nail since I'm not too into yellow-ish minty colors. Never heard of this brand before!

All in all I am very satisfied with my package. I hope the person who received the polishes I sent out is also satisfied with my picks. Check out the gallery of packages here or here! Lena and Lotte did a great job organizing, so I have to give a big hug and thanks to them as well :)

Lacura - Studio 54 (Lacke in Farbe ...und bunt!)

Hey guys!

Last week for New Year's Eve, Lena asked for silver. Being the slacker that I apparently am, I didn't post in time. Surprise, right? Anyway, here we are, finally. Let's conclude 2014, blog-wise, one and for all!

I have two coats here, with top coat. This is more of a gritty finish by itself and doesn't smooth out 100% even with top coat. As you probably know I don't mind that, though. This can look more silver or more gunmetal, but I think it still fits in the category.
